Welcome to McGraw Basset Hounds, where our passion for animals meets a life built around love, care, and responsible breeding. Nestled on our beautiful 50-acre farm in El Campo, Texas, we are a devoted family of five raising exceptional Basset Hound puppies with dedication and purpose.

As lifelong animal lovers, our farm is home to much more than just our beloved hounds. We also raise Alpine goats, horses, sheep, and Maine Coon cats. It’s the kind of life we always dreamed of—one filled with fresh air, wagging tails, and a shared mission to care for our animals with the utmost respect and compassion. Our three children play a special role in our daily routine, learning firsthand the values of kindness, patience, and responsibility.

Our Basset Hounds are more than pets—they are family. Every puppy is raised with daily hands-on care, socialized from birth, and nurtured in a safe, clean, and engaging environment. We’re proud to provide our dogs with wide open spaces to run, explore, and play. Their kennels are thoughtfully designed with comfort and health in mind: powder-coated metal panels to prevent injuries, soft straw for joint-friendly ground cover, and ample room for lounging and exercise.

In fact, we’ve taken the idea of “dog housing” to an entirely new level—literally. Our family custom-built a two-story, six-room dog house complete with ramps to support our Bassets’ sensitive joints. While it may sound extravagant, we believe in giving our dogs the same joy and comfort they bring to us. Even our retired hounds and companions have a special place on our property, reminding us daily why we started this journey.

Health and hygiene are top priorities at McGraw Basset Hounds. That’s why we’ve developed a specialized weaning system to raise puppies off the ground prior to full vaccination—keeping them protected from potential soil-borne illnesses common in the South. Our raised pens allow for supervised play, cleanliness, and comfort. Bedding is changed daily, toys are laundered, and the entire area is sanitized regularly to ensure our puppies thrive in a healthy environment.

Every puppy we raise is a product of intention, education, and years of experience. We are committed to bettering the Basset Hound breed and providing families with companions who are not only beautiful and well-socialized but also happy and healthy for life.
